If you have not yet managed to join one of the walks as part of Erewash Walking Month there is still time, with the following five walks running in the final week including four of them being in the evening or at the weekend.
Plus, we have a family treasure hunt for families on Friday morning at West Park for the half term holiday.
We have so far engaged approximately 425 walkers in Erewash Walking Month, and I am hoping we might reach 500 by the end of the week and Erewash Walking Month campaign.
I would like to thank you for supporting Erewash Walking Month by way of attending one or more of the walks or helping to promote the walks in some way to your colleagues, professional networks, friends, and family.

Due to the cost implications of repairing the collapsed Christmas Tree electrical chamber in Stanley and re-siting the electrical chamber at Stanley Common (because of the in-line crossing point that was installed last year), along with additional licences needed for using the street lighting, the Parish Council have made the decision to move the Community Christmas Trees to the White Hart in Stanley and Top Club in Stanley Common. This will save the Parish Council thousands of pounds but will still bring Christmas cheer to our villages and allow our community to gather together. The celebrations will take place:
6pm on 29th November 2024 at Top Club, Stanley Common
6pm on 6th December 2024 at White Hart, Stanley
Come along to the light switch-on followed by the usual refreshments and celebrations afterwards! The Parish Council would like to thank our hosts for offering the use of their facilities.
Do you like walking?
Have you some spare time on your hands?
Would you consider setting up a Parish Walking Group?
If you are interested in becoming a walk leader or starting a parish walking group, why not sign up to this walk leader training on 2nd August or 31st October? To book, please email Becci Carter at Erewash Borough Council on becci.carter@erewash.gov.uk
