Smalley Common Recreation Ground

Also known locally as the Fallow Field, this area of land has been designated an important local wildlife site and is maintained as a wildflower meadow. One of the few remaining wildflower meadows in Derbyshire, this is a special site that the Parish Council works to preserve for local enjoyment.

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust performed a detailed study of the meadow in 2010 and produced the Stanley Common Meadow 2010 Survey Report. The ER214 Stanley Common Meadow Register Sheet is also available to download.

The land is accessible to the public and is enjoyed by dog walkers throughout the year.

If you are visiting the site please take note of our byelaws as detailed on the entrance gate and help us to preserve this rare site.

If you would like to volunteer to help us with preservation projects on the site, or make a charitable donation towards the upkeep and development of the meadow please get in touch with the Parish Clerk.
